General Dentistry Services

You should be visiting a dentist every six months for routine checkups to keep your teeth healthy, strong and beautiful. The reason for this is simple: Dr. J wants to be able to catch any dental health issues before they turn into painful or expensive problems. The more familiar he is with your specific circumstances and dental history, the easier it will be for him to find and treat health issues before they become serious.

Think of a general dentist like your primary care provider for your teeth. Our goal is to prevent or treat common dental problems and keep your smile healthy. In general, we will examine your teeth for any signs of trouble (like infection, impaction or decay). If Dr. J finds anything, he will explain your options and provide the recommended treatment. And if the required treatment is a more specialized type of dentistry, such as oral surgery or implants, you’re in great hands because we handle more complex dental concerns right here in our
Largo, FL dental clinic!

Our General Dentistry Services Include

Cleanings and Exams

As part of your routine checkups, Dr. J and his team will give you a thorough cleaning to remove built-up plaque from your teeth. This simple procedure helps prevent gum disease and makes your teeth feel great!

Dr. J will also give you an examination, including x-rays as needed to completely understand your dental health. This exam will enable him to catch any issues like cavities, decay, or signs of infection and treat them before they can cause long-term damage to your smile.

Call us today to schedule your appointment and see for yourself why our patients love coming back to see us for their checkups!

Nightguards

If you clench or grind your teeth at night, come see Dr. J about a custom nightguard (also called a mouthguard).

Clenching and grinding your teeth at night can damage your enamel and lead to cracks in your teeth. It can also harm your gums, cause pain and headaches, and damage your jaw joints.

Dr. J can fit you for a nightguard that will protect your teeth and prevent the damage of teeth grinding. Nightguards are comfortable and easy to use, and they are a great investment in your long-term dental health and happiness.

Crowns and Bridges

We can repair chipped, cracked, broken or missing teeth with our high-quality dental crowns and bridges.

A dental crown is a cap that covers a damaged tooth to protect it. At Bardmoor Family Dental, Dr. J can match the crown to the color of your tooth and shape it to look as natural as possible. It is often used to cover a dental implant, but a dental crown can also treat teeth that have:

Large cavities

  • Decay
  • Cracks, chips or breaks
  • Severe wear or altered shape

Root Canals

If you have an infected tooth, Dr. J at Bardmoor Family Dental can handle the infection and protect your tooth from reinfection by doing a root canal.

A root canal procedure requires a few steps: First, remove the infected pulp in the root of your tooth. Second, clean inside the root to handle any remaining bacteria. And third, fill the root canal with a sterile material and seal it off to prevent reinfection.

If you notice any sudden tooth pain, swelling or redness in your gums, call Bardmoor Family Dental to schedule an examination. Dr. J will help treat the cause of your discomfort and get you back up and running.

Dentures, Complete & Partial

If you are missing any adult teeth, Dr. J at Bardmoor Family Dental can help you out with custom-made dentures!

Partial dentures can replace one or several missing teeth in a row. They connect to the surrounding natural teeth to hold replacement teeth in place without the need for implants.

Complete (or traditional) dentures replace all your natural teeth. They fit comfortably in your mouth and stay in place on your gums through suction. Because they are removable, they are easy to clean and can be taken out at night for comfortable sleep.
